Silver Stag Construction is based at Sonning Common, just outside Henley-on-Thames, and has been a registered company since October 2018. The work is domestic and local: single-storey and multi-storey extensions, whole-house renovations, and occasional one-off new builds in the villages between Henley, Caversham and Watlington.
We are members of the Federation of Master Builders, which means the firm has been professionally vetted and is independently inspected — not a badge you can simply buy on the way in. Beyond that, what clients tend to mention is less glamorous and more useful: a quote you can read line by line, a straight answer when something on site turns out differently, and a site that gets tidied at the end of the day.

We come and look
A visit to the property, a proper look at what you are working with, and an honest first view of what your plans involve — including where the walls, drains and roof are going to make life awkward.

A written, itemised quotation
Clear, transparent and detailed, with no hidden costs. Where a spec is still undecided we say so and show you the range, instead of burying a guess in a single line.

One team, one programme
James and the team work to an agreed order of works, with our own regular trades booked around it. You get told about problems as they appear, and the site is left tidy at the end of the day.

Snagging and hand-over
The snag list is walked with you, sign-offs and certificates are collected, the site is cleared, and we talk you through anything in the finished building that needs looking after.

We are based at Sonning Common and build in Henley-on-Thames, Caversham, Emmer Green, Gallowstree Common, Kingwood Common, Peppard Common and Watlington — the villages our own project galleries are named after. Near enough that James can come out for a look and still be on site while the job runs.
